A heavy police presence was reported today in the parking lot of a busy Chicago shopping area, where police say shots were fired after two people attempted to steal merchandise.⁠ ⁠ Two suspects entered a Jewel-Osco on 34th St. at 10:52 a.m. and took merchandise that was displayed, according to police. As the suspects attempted to leave, a 46-year-old man attempted to intervene.
