This Black History Month, we’re celebrating heroes who have helped moved Black American homeownership forward through innovation, resilience and courage. First we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and the role he played in the Fair Housing Act, which makes it illegal for anyone to be discriminated against when renting or buying a home. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. We still have work to do. But we wouldn’t be this far along without the work of Dr. King.
