Berkeley overwhelmingly voted for Proposition 50, with more than 90% of votes backing the amendment. Berkeley has one of the highest percentage of votes in favor of Prop. 50 out of other California cities.
Proposition 50, a legislative amendment to California’s constitution, will redraw congressional maps to gain the Democratic Party more seats in the national legislature.
Alameda had the third-highest “yes” margin out of all counties in California, with 80.6% of voters casting in favor. Alameda trailed behind Marin at 80.7% and San Francisco at 85%, as of press time.
