Julia’s MA in Music allowed her to learn about a multitude of musical traditions from cultures around the world. She learnt to play a traditional Korean instrument, the gayageum, and wrote a dissertation on traditional Korean culture in K-pop. Her scholarship was “quite literally the deciding factor in being able to attend SOAS.” If you are part of the SOAS alumni community, you have experienced first-hand the transformative impact of a SOAS education.
