We are supporting coffee farmers to improve their crops ☕🌱 Through the #NESCAFÉPlan, we are supporting coffee farmers transition to practices like optimized fertilization, soil cover, mulching and composting, with the aim of improving productivity and lowering their costs. Healthier soils have a greater ability to absorb and store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, because they have higher levels of organic matter than degraded soils. In addition, soil with higher levels of organic matter can retain water more effectively. By holding on to water, soil can provide a buffer against the impacts of hotter weather or drought.
