If you have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, try this Sleep Reset strategy. Don't lie in bed unable to sleep for hours! If you can't fall asleep after 30-45 minutes, get up out of bed and go to another room. Do a relaxing activity that you enjoy for 20 minutes (i.e. reading a book, journaling, stretching, meditation, etc.) in dim light. These 20 minutes will build up your sleep drive which makes you feel sleepy and breaks your brain's association of being awake in bed and not sleeping. Once you're more sleepy, try to sleep again. Pro Tip: You can use this Sleep Reset strategy even while traveling.
