As a proud alumna and an Adjunct Lecturer at stanford, my connection to this incredible community has been a special cornerstone of my journey in sleep medicine.
It all began in 2002 when I met Dr. William C. Dementāthe father of modern sleep medicineāand helped conduct a sleep study examining the effects of paying back sleep debt. This experience sparked my fascination with sleep and curiosity to explore performance in athletes. Under the guidance and mentorship by Dr. Dement during my B.A.S. in Biological Sciences & Psychology and subsequent M.S. in Biological Sciences, I started to study the impact of sleep in elite athletes.
Dr. Dementās famous Sleep and Dreams class, which he began teaching in 1971, has taught and inspired thousands of students to explore the fascinating world of sleep science and its profound impact on our health and every day life.
