🙌🏽One of my fav gym hacks that I always get questions about!!!
Here’s exactly how I set up and do weighted glute hyperextensions!!!
The set up:
-you want your barbell INSIDE the squat rack
-place your feet up against something sturdy, I use plates because they help hold my feet in place since I put them right up against the back of the rack
-put a hip thrust pad on the barbell for comfort
-make sure the safeties are at the height that allows your upper thighs to be on the barbell NOT the crease of your hips
Exercise cues:
-I like to keep my upper body slightly rounded over holding the weight down in my eyeline
-think about powering the hyperextension from your Hammies & glutes rather than straining your back
-maintain a braced core throughout
