Last week we celebrated this year's Rubin Art Prize winner: Khadhok – Tibetan Artists’ Collective (khadhok_arts)! Thank you to everyone who joined us at Sundaram Tagore Gallery (sundaramtagore) in NYC. The India-based collective was founded by Tashi Nyima, Tenzin Melak, and Lea Taake in Dharamsala, India in 2023 to provide a dedicated space for Tibetan contemporary visual artists to present their work, exchange ideas, and strengthen their practice, with a focus on emerging artists. The collective’s activities include exhibitions, mural projects, workshops, talks, and youth engagement initiatives in schools and community spaces. The Rubin Himalayan Art Prize is an annual $30,000 unrestricted cash prize, the largest international prize in support of contemporary artists in the Himalayan regions. Congratulations, again, to Khadhok — Tibetan Artists Collective, and thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this momentous occasion! 📸 Matthew Carasella ______ Image 1: Jorr...
