We found this terrific map of Queen's Park and surrounding neighbourhood, dated October 1, 1934. It was made for the Surveys Branch of the Ontario Department of Highways. Check out the level of detail it includes. 1. The complete map. Fonds 200, Series 726, Item 522. 2. Detail. Trinity College on Hoskin Avenue was not yet a quadrangle. 3. Detail. The map labels the location and species of every tree in Queen's Park. The equestrian statue of Edward VII had not yet been installed in the centre of the park. In its place was a bandstand. 4. Detail. The grounds of the legislature included a bowling green, a film vault, and a greenhouse. 5. Detail. There were brick houses on the southeast side of Queen's Park, where the Ministry of Finance now stands. The building labelled Hospital was the Toronto Psychiatric Hospital, now a clinic known as Surrey Place. #QueensPark #UofT #TrinityCollegeToronto #TOHistory #TorontoArchives
