The boys varsity soccer team competed in the 6A state championship on Saturday, Nov. 8 against Washburn Rural for the second year in a row, and in East history. The score was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and neither team scored a goal in the two 10-minute sudden death overtime halves. After the two overtime halves the game came down to penalty kicks. Seniors Stephen Hlobik, Parker Mahurin, Hudson Bennish and Owen Andrews all lined up to shoot.
