We’re preparing for the next phase of our gallery reinstallation project — and Crystal Phelps, our Collection Reinstallation Project Manager, is here to walk you through what’s coming next.
Beginning December 15, 2025, several West Wing galleries will close while we continue reimagining TMA’s collection spaces. These include the Great Gallery; Galleries 22–27, 32–33, and 34. During this time, artwork such as The Architect’s Dream, Blind Man’s Buff, and The Crowning of Saint Catherine will go off view.
✨ What’s still open?
A lot. You’ll still be able to visit the Glass Pavilion, Classic Court, Wolfe Gallery, multiple galleries across the East Wing, the TMA Café and Store, the Library, the Family Center, and daily glassblowing demos. Favorites like El Greco’s The Agony in the Garden and Anselm Kiefer’s Athanor will remain on view.
This reinstallation — the first in more than 40 years — will create brighter, more accessible, and more thoughtfully arranged spaces for 6,000 years of glob...
