I’m not saying that coming to Israel because of financial hardship was wrong — it was a reality many Jewish communities faced, and I understand the desire to build a better life. But for Beit Israel, the main reason — the true motivation — for coming to Jerusalem, to Israel, was the deep spiritual belief and centuries-old yearning to return home.
