Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” was awarded the Sloan Science in Cinema Prize by SFFILM and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation on Wednesday during an event at the AMC Kabuki 8. In attendance, del Toro accepted the award in company with Dr. Jennifer Doudna, Nobel laureate and co-inventor of CRISPR gene editing technology, alongside sound designer Nathan Robitaille, VFX supervisor Dennis Berardi, head of concept design Guy Davis and editor Evan Schiff. Golden Gate Xpress was on the scene and spoke with Dr. Doudna, del Toro and his team about the film.
