Sky Sports have axed a new controversial channel after just two days after “sexism” backlash. The broadcaster launched Halo as an account on TikTok just last week, with it designed to focus on female sports. It faced fierce backlash with many slamming it as “patronising” after the broadcaster dubbed the channel its “Lil sis”. Sky have admitted that the idea was misjudged and have stopped all activity on the account. The broadcaster announced the decision on Saturday evening with a statement. It read: “Our intention for Halo was to create a space alongside our existing channel for new, young, female fans. “We’ve listened. “We didn’t get it right. As a result, we’re stopping all activity on this account. “We’re learning and remain as committed as ever to creating spaces where fans feel included and inspired.” Fans were quick to hit out at the platform immediately after it launched on Tiktok. #skysports #football #news #skysportshalo #long
