Senior Derrick Ampofo won 2nd place—and the highest undergraduate student finisher—for his poster presentation at the Missouri Physiological Society Annual Conference. 👏 His award-winning research focused on the effects of dichloroacetate and metformin on glioblastoma brain tumor cells. The aspiring physician and researcher came to Jewell from Ghana to study molecular biology, with interests in genetics, cancer biology and neurobiology. He also serves as Student Senate vice president.
