Study Abroad Spotlight: Claire Elliott ’26 – Peru 🇵🇪
Meet Claire, a Spanish and political science double major with minors in linguistics and women and gender studies, who’s spending the semester abroad in Cuzco, Peru!
Through the SIT Indigenous Studies and Globalization program, Claire is diving deep into the culture, history, and contemporary life of Peru’s Indigenous communities.
“When I’m not visiting Indigenous communities, I start my day with a huge breakfast and a walk to class through historic Cuzco, once the capital of the Incan Empire,” she says. “My courses explore the vibrant traditions and modern challenges of Indigenous groups across the Andes and Amazon.”
When class wraps up, Claire meets up with friends to hike, explore museums, or grab pastries and play cards in the town square before returning home for dinner with her host family.
