This weekend, Auburn welcomes a historic foe to campus. Auburn and Mercer first faced off in 1896 and played eleven times before the series halted in 1922. The Bears would return to the Auburn football schedule in 2017 for the first matchup in nearly 100 years. The Bears returned in 2022 and now make their third trip to the Plains in the last eight years. Unlike the last two meetings, Mercer will not be wearing Adidas uniforms this season. The Bears switched to Under Armour uniforms prior to the 2023 season and will become the first opponent to wear UA against Auburn following the Tigers' move to Nike. Auburn leads the all-time meeting against Mercer 13-0 and has outscored the Bears 572-38 in those games.
