Today I woke up with my dreams in my face…I graduated from Cornell University and words can’t capture just how much this moment means. Through the grace of God and the unwavering support of my village I’ve accomplished something that honorably validates the sacrifices of those who came before me. From running streets in Philly to walking across the stage at one of the world’s leading institutions—I’m infinitely blessed. Since childhood I always had dreams of attending an Ivy League institution, and my experience as a student-athlete at Cornell has truly been transformative in every sense. According to many of the false narratives and stigmas surrounding people like me, I shouldn’t be where I am today. I grew up witnessing the deep-rooted pain affecting my community and vowed to become a beacon of hope. My success is a testament to the resilience of the village that raised me, and the magic that happens when people are given equitable opportunities. I’m thankful for all of the challenge...
