Forever Young and Sierra Leone aren’t just two of the biggest names in horse racing — they’re first cousins! Their family connection comes from their mothers: Forever Darling (dam of Forever Young) and Heavenly Love (dam of Sierra Leone) were both foals of a mare named Darling My Darling. After retirement from racing, Forever Darling moved to Japan to begin her broodmare life. 🐴✨ The first time these equine cousins faced each other was in the 2024 Kentucky Derby, where both were famously part of a thrilling 3-way photo finish — narrowly edged out by Mystik Dan.
