We’re #MedStarHealthProud of two of our nurses who partnered with local police officers in a pilot program that dramatically improved officers’ ability to recognize stroke signs using the BEFAST tool—boosting accuracy to 100%! Because every minute counts, this training helps close the dangerous gap between a patient’s first encounter and life-saving medical care. The results were so remarkable that the team expanded the work into a formal study and published it in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
