Radicle is a peer-to-peer protocol designed to help developers collaborate and share code without relying on centralized platforms. According to the platform’s User Guide, the protocol builds on Git, a widely used version control system, to allow repositories, issues, and patches to be replicated directly between users’ devices using cryptographic identities. Each user operates their own node in the network, which helps distribute data and maintain project autonomy. The protocol aims to give contributors complete ownership of their work and data within a distributed network of peers. In June 2025, the team introduced Radicle Desktop, a graphical application designed to make participating in the network simpler and more intuitive.
