The Casual Pint of Chapel Hill has announced it will be closing its doors permanently in December. The announcement comes as the bar approaches six years of service at its Chapel Hill franchise, located at 201 South Elliott Road, Suite 51. In a social media post shared early Tuesday morning, owners Bill and Donna Darragh called the decision a difficult one, saying it was made “after careful consideration of our business operations versus the financial costs, which are simply too high for us to continue operating our business at the same standards.” During its six-year run in Chapel Hill, The Casual Pint won numerous awards from Chapel Hill Magazine, including “Best Beer Selection,” “Best Place to Watch a Game,” and “Best Wings.” “When we started this venture, our goal was to provide a gathering spot for the community to come together over excellent craft beer featuring a large selection from local breweries,” the Darraghs said. “Our hearts are full as we feel we have accomplished th...
