Even though I never met Eddie in person, I cried my eyes out when he left this earth. I think we all had a special connection with him, especially us Mexican American kids. Every time he was in the ring, I think we all felt represented. When I found out from Sherilyn Guerrero that El Paso was going to honor him by giving him his day, I felt I needed to do this song to honor him myself. I worked on “Lie, Cheat, and Steal” and did it in a Norteño style because I truly believe that if he heard this version of his song, he would love it. I did this with all the respect in the world for him and his family.
