Pete Dawkins was a force both on and off the field.
In 1958, the Army halfback had a historic senior season β winning the Heisman and Maxwell Trophies, earning Unanimous All-America honors, scoring 12 touchdowns, rushing for 428 yards, and returning 10 punts for 162 yards.
Dawkins also served as Brigade Commander, class president, team captain, and βStar Manβ, finishing in the top five percent of his class academically β the only Cadet in West Point history to accomplish this feat.
