The Vilcek Foundation proudly presents “The Coloring Book of African Art Through the Ages”— their newest collaboration with the Brooklyn Museum and the 6th title in their educational series!
As part of its mission to uplift the arts and champion diverse perspectives, the vilcekfoundation partnered with brooklynmuseum curators Ernestine White-Mifetu and Yekaterina Barbash to select 60+ objects from the museum’s Ancient Egyptian Art and Arts of Africa collections. These pieces span thousands of years, highlighting the deep African roots present throughout Egyptian culture, a foundation that is often obscured by Western art-historical narratives.
