Our strip woven textile from the Arts of Global Africa collection has traveled to the Brooklyn Museum! ✨ Strip weaving is a vibrant art form in West Africa. This stunning piece was created by the Bobo people, one of the largest ethnic groups in Burkina Faso. Weavers throughout the region use this traditional method—working on horizontal looms with foot pedals to craft long, narrow bands of cloth that are then sewn together to create wrappers, gowns, blankets, and more.
