We did some maquettes and anatomy studies to get the pose and look nailed down. mattmillard3d did the 3D for the horse, and saekoyamazaki1985 did the clay maquette early on in the process. The horse was mostly 3D printed and reinforced inside with epoxy and fiberglass. Then we painted it and added the snow and ice.
