Ill Na Na is the debut studio album by #FoxyBrown, released on November 19, 1996, through Def Jam Recordings. The project made an immediate impact, debuting at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 128,000 copies sold in its first week. It went on to move more than 1.4 million units and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album was a groundbreaking moment for women in hip-hop. Ill Na Na became the first female rap album to debut in the Billboard 200’s top 10, the first by a female rapper to earn certified plaques outside the U.S., and the highest-selling, fastest-to-platinum female rap album of 1996, reaching Platinum status in just 2.7 months.
