Living like a Victorian up in this B!!! After being away on my book tour for over a month, I’m finally back home. Before we left, we had no heat since our furnace hadn’t been serviced since 1985 and it was a beautiful death trap. Before left, we turned off the water and headed out, but upon our return, the house felt like an icebox. Funny enough, one of the men that used to live in this house and died in this house was a worker at the ice plant factory back in the 1930s. Spooky much? Anyway, It turns out we didn’t turn the water off completely, leading to some sinks still dripping and creating an icicle from the kitchen sink. something I’ve never seen before! Even the water in the coffee maker was frozen solid. When we tried to turn the water back on, we discovered that the pipes had burst. So water was dripping everywhere. With plumbing issues common in cold climates, finding a plumber in a small town was a challenge. We had to wait a week for an appointment. During that chilly time,...
