In the mid-1800s Musk Oxen disappeared from Alaska due to over hunting. Fast forward to 1930’s they were reintroduced from Greenland. It doesn’t take long driving around Nome to find a herd. We had some special encounters with multiple calves and also witnessed the full life cycle with a grizzly….. #muskox #alaska #nome #naturephotographer
