While I do agree that Aaron Judge has not helped himself at times in the playoffs over the years, there have been only a few instances when he had an actual star in his prime to bolster the lineup with him. Giancarlo Stanton had his October moments, but he has been injured a bunch. Stanton’s best years are behind him, though he is obviously still better than any of us could have figured he’d be in 2025 once they traded for him that Winter before the 2018 season. Then, of course, there was Juan Soto. In Soto’s one year here, the Yankees went to the World Series. Right now, they’re at an important point in Judge’s prime. He’s the best hitter in the sport. There is money to be spent around him. They'd better spend it wisely. You think of how absurd Shohei Ohtani is. Last season, he posted a 172 wRC+ and 1.014 OPS, and Judge was better across the board.
