hypebeast visited the studio during my “Santa’s Nightmare” shoot and put together this cool short showing the process. 2 questions I frequently get asked is what do I use to hold up the figures in place and how are they connected. Answer: these rigs are from Cinespark and made specifically for stop motion. For this shoot, I drilled holes in the back of the figures to connect the rigs. I try to avoid drilling but this method is the most stable especially when the subject is suspended off the ground. Another way to connect the rig to the subject is using strong double sided tape.
