VENICE MUSEUM: 💯 The Blackburn Building at 303 W. Venice Ave. has seen some modifications over the years. Why is it known as the Blackburn Building? It was built in 1926 for Albert Blackburn, a South County farmer and real estate developer. Additionally, Blackburn held trusted positions with Mrs. Bertha Palmer, Dr. Fred Albee, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Sarasota architect J.C. Humphrey designed this 2-story structure in the Northern Italian style to accommodate five retailers on the first floor and eight apartments on the second floor. #VeniceFLCentennial #100Years #cityonthegulf
