According to the latest #StateOfWater Report, in 2024, glaciers in Scandinavia, Svalbard, and North Asia recorded their largest annual mass loss ever observed. 📊 For over 130 years, scientists have been measuring and monitoring these changes. Despite this, vast mountain regions remain unmonitored, leaving critical blind spots in our understanding of how the cryosphere is changing. Better observation coverage, data management, and sharing can transform how we analyze, predict, and act to address threats, risks, and impacts. This is why #Glaciers2025 matters: we can’t manage what we don’t measure.
