President Donald Trump’s administration is suing the state of California and its public university systems over state laws that allow undocumented students to pay in-state tuition and receive certain financial aid.
The administration argues that California university systems’ adoption of state policies that provide tuition benefits for undocumented students violates federal law, according to court documents filed Thursday evening.
In addition to the UC Board of Regents, the Trump administration is suing the CSU Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges.
