Finland 🇫🇮 The last time I was in Finland, in 2022, I was coming back from injury, and struggling mentally, physically, and emotionally. It was not a happy period in my life, and when I arrived at the airport this past weekend, memories of that time came flooding back to me. But it was not unwelcome - reflecting on that time made me realize again, how far I have come. Not just in skating, but in my life. Everything I have gone through has made me into a better athlete and person, and I look back on the old version of myself with kindness and pride. Kindness because she struggled and fought and failed, and pride because she picked herself up time and time again, no matter how much it hurt to keep falling. And this weekend, as I finished my free skate and listened to the crowd cheering, I sat on my knees and looked around the arena in appreciation.
