September 12, 2023 This was our very first day in the studio for my new album II II V, the day we wrote “SHADOW.” I drove to the studio singing “I was trapped in fear, but now I’m breaking out,” that could not have been more true. That morning I was reading about being in the shadow too … it all started coming together. lael_official started this beat in the moment and the song was written in a few hours. I knew right away that we were gonna create from a place of joy, freedom, and creativity. There were no boxes, it was just following the wind in every single session.
