🚨 AUSTIN FC NEWS 🚨 austinfcii has appointed Jason Shackell as the club’s new head coach, becoming the second person to lead the team in its history. Shackell has been part of the Austin FC Academy since 2021, most recently serving as U-16 Head Coach after a 500+ game professional career in England, including promotions to the Premier League and multiple PFA Team of the Year selections. The club also confirmed that Brett Uttley departs after the expiration of his contract. Uttley led Austin FC II for three seasons (2023–2025), winning the MLS NEXT Pro Cup, the Western Conference title, and the first-ever MLS NEXT Pro Invitational. Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell thanked Uttley for his work and expressed confidence in Shackell as he steps into the role. Shackell will oversee a staff featuring assistant coach Omar Jarun and goalkeeper coach Peter Davis ahead of the 2026 season.
