When Dylan was 13, he had a stroke caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in his brain. After two complex surgeries and months of rehabilitation, he had to relearn everything—how to read, write, and speak.
Through hard work, therapy, and family support, Dylan rebuilt his skills and confidence. Nearly twenty years later, he’s working in IT, living independently, and sharing his story to encourage others.
“Just keep going. Push harder, and you will be successful. It’s a lot of work, but I’m doing good.”
Today, Dylan continues to inspire through his optimism and honesty about life with aphasia. His story reminds us that recovery happens one small victory at a time—and that connection through SOCC can help survivors keep moving forward.
