Unlike standard Tera Raid Battles, Shiny Chi-Yu cannot be caught upon being defeated. Instead, if the total number of player victories against this Pokémon collectively meets or exceeds one million during its event period, Shiny Chi-Yu will subsequently be available to claim via Mystery Gift during its distribution period.
