NCCU's football team has a two game winning streak after its defeat of the Howard Bisons and Norfolk State Spartans last week. The Eagles saw career-high performances from quarterback Walker Harris and a HBCU National Player of the Week honor to wide receiver Chauncey Spikes. The Lady Eagles opened their basketball season against the UNC Chapel Hill Tarheels, falling short with a 90-42 defeat. The team is 0-2 thus far with another loss against UNC Wilmington. The men's basketball team made their season debut Monday with a 114-66 loss to N.C. State. Guard Gage Lattimore and forward Khouri Carvey led the Eagles in scoring with 20 points and 19 points, respectively, while returning senior Dionte Johnson helped facilitate the offense with 5 assists.
