Ever wonder what a day in the life of a medical student is like? Nicole Miller thought it was going to be all books and studying but discovered it's so much more. Now in her third year at Duke University School of Medicine, she balances clinical work, research, and community outreach, and she even finds time to dance. As someone who was a pediatric patient herself, Nicole wants to give back to our younger generation by becoming a doctor. So, what does her average day look like? In the morning, she conducts clinical work and child development research through the Reach Out & Read program at the Duke Children’s Primary Care Clinic. In the evening, she helps feed community members through Duke’s Root Causes during Wellness Wednesday, an after-hours clinic offered at Duke Children’s Primary Care in North Durham.
