Stay pain-free or prevent it from ever happening! These helped me and I hope they help you. No one talks about how mentally tough it is to navigate injury. I’ve been there, trust me, so this is all that I did to get back in my running bag, or in other words, bring back my happiness: 1. Consulted and trusted a pro, followed the program and treated rehab as seriously as marathon training. 2. Wore higher heel to toe drop shoes to reduce load on the Achilles and stayed off carbon plates . 3. Cut all speed work and paused intensity completely to let the tendon calm down. 4. I didn’t stop running, I ran smart and focused on fixing the root cause, not just the pain. Embraced manageable discomfort with small workouts (10 min on / 1 min off) and gradually increased mileage as long as symptoms stayed controlled. 5.
