In 2013, after conducting his own “autopsy” into chicken nuggets from two unnamed fast food restaurants, Dr. Richard deShazo said that finger food is actually made with only 40 to 50 percent meat. The rest? It’s all fat, skin, connective tissue, blood vessels, nerves, and bone fragments.⁠ ⁠ “I was floored. I had read what other reports said in them, and I didn’t believe it.
