A Madera County family is expressing gratitude after a life-threatening incident involving their 14-month-old daughter.
The toddler began choking on the soft end of a pacifier, so they called 911.
Deputy Aguilar arrived swiftly and initiated life-saving measures, successfully dislodging the obstruction with the help of the caregivers.
Paramedics transported the child to Valley Children's Hospital as a precaution, and she was released shortly after in good health.
Authorities emphasize the importance of staying calm and calling 911 in emergencies, with dispatchers ready to guide callers through necessary procedures.
