Elton John has said he thinks that Donald Trump would go down in history as ‘one of the greatest presidents’ if he could only figure out how to end AIDS. Speaking to Variety on 25 November, the gay singer said: “President Trump has maybe solved the peace problem. If he wants to go down as one of the greatest presidents in history… if he ended AIDS, that would really be a feather in his cap.” In 1992, the star established the Elton John AIDS Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that supports innovative HIV prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to people living with or at risk of HIV.
