University of Washington senior Shubham Bansal has been named a 2026 Rhodes Scholar — one of only 32 students in the U.S. selected for this prestigious scholarship. Shubham grew up just north of Seattle in Mukilteo and enrolled at the UW at age 16 to study neuroscience. As an undergraduate, he has researched how the human immune system responds to illness and worked with Seattle Children’s Hospital on studies of neurodevelopmental disorders in young patients.
