If you’re not on tik tok, they over their romanticizing the conditions of Black people during the Harlem Renaissance so here’s my contribution to the discussion! I didn’t explain Hartman’s methodology well at all but I think the book is still a great reference for this conversation. There were a lot of lost stories, specifically for Black (& queer) women and this a glimpse of that. Also should’ve explicitly noted the book isn’t about the Harlem Renaissance but has some stories from the period. #bookrecs #harlemrenaissance #reading
