The Lower School gathered for a special chapel in the National Cathedral today in honor of Veterans Day.
The service opened with music from Master Sergeant Justin Stamps (trumpeter with the Ceremonial Brass of the United States Air Force Band), Mr. Jay Chadwick (French horn), and Upper School choral director Mr. Frank Van Atta (organ).
STA archivist Mark Wilkerson, former United States Marine Corps sergeant, shared a reflection about Veterans Day with the audience.
In attendance were special guests, 1st Lieutenant Brian Geffroy ’17 (USMC), John Lehman P ‘33 (served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy), and Paul L. Colby (served as captain USMC), who were also honored for their service. Lower School student Tom ‘32 sang a beautiful rendition of “Pie Jesu” to conclude the service.
Thank you to all veterans for your sacrifice and service, and to everyone for a beautiful chapel today.
